Dermal fillers are injectable, gel-like substances used to counteract the visible signs of aging by restoring volume and smoothing the skin's surface. Unlike neurotoxins (like Botox), which relax muscles, fillers physically fill the space where collagen and fat have diminished. At Blackhawk Plastic Surgery & MedSpa, we primarily use hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, such as the Restylane family.
Because HA is a naturally occurring sugar in the human body, these treatments are highly biocompatible and provide a soft, hydrated, and incredibly natural appearance.

Restylane adds volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds).
Restylane works immediately by adding volume to smooth away wrinkles. A clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid, Restylane is specifically formulated to act like your body’s own hyaluronic acid.

Just like Restylane, Lyft adds volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). Like Restylane, Lyft is a clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid specifically formulated to add fullness, like your body’s own hyaluronic acid.
What makes Lyft different is the average particle size and the depth of injection. On average, Lyft gel particles are larger than those in Restylane, making Lyft a good choice for wrinkles that benefit from deeper injection into the skin. In three clinical studies of 150 patients each, on average, 70% of patients maintained improvement for 6 months after a single Perlane/Lyft treatment.
Your treatment begins with a personalized consultation, during which Dr. Ronan assesses your facial structure and skin elasticity. On the day of the procedure, the target areas are cleansed.

There is virtually no downtime associated with dermal fillers. You may experience mild swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection site, which typically resolves within 24 to 48 hours.
