A Sharper Take On Subtle.
Loose skin and a small pocket of fat can change the contour of the same area. Understanding how much each contributes helps determine which treatment will make a worthwhile difference.
Blackhawk Plastic Surgery & MedSpa offers Junera laser treatment in Danville for selected concerns involving skin laxity and localized fat. This minimally invasive technology delivers energy beneath the skin, allowing treatment to focus on tightening, fat reduction, or both.
Our approach begins with your proportions and the change you have in mind. We explain where Junera may help, what recovery involves, and when another option would better meet your goals.

The Method Behind The Definition
Junera is a laser platform designed for subdermal tissue remodeling. “Subdermal” means beneath the skin. A fine optical fiber delivers controlled heat to the treatment area through a small opening.
Its dual-wavelength technology gives the treating provider options for addressing skin laxity, localized fat, or a combination of the two. The treatment is minimally invasive: it involves entering beneath the skin and requires preparation, anesthesia, and aftercare.
Junera is intended for targeted contour improvement. It does not remove large folds of excess skin or produce weight loss.
The treatment settings depend on the tissue being addressed. Junera has three modes:
EraLift uses the 1470 nm wavelength to heat water-containing tissue and stimulate collagen remodeling. Collagen helps support the skin. As tissue responds over the following months, the treated area may become firmer.
EraSculpt uses the 980 nm wavelength for laser-assisted breakdown of localized fat. Treatment is directed at selected deposits that affect contour, with the amount and location of fat considered during planning.
EraDefine delivers both wavelengths together to address fat and skin laxity in the same area. This can be useful when fullness and loose skin both contribute to a less defined contour. The choice of mode follows the assessment; fat reduction is not necessary for every patient. Junera technology
Keep The Volume You Value
The relationship between skin, underlying tissue, and facial volume matters when planning treatment. Fullness beneath the chin calls for a different assessment than loose cheek skin or a face that has already lost volume.
Junera may be considered for selected facial concerns involving:
Your evaluation considers the surrounding features as well as the area you want to change. Preserving useful facial volume is part of that discussion.

On the body, Junera can be considered for localized contour concerns involving the upper arms, abdomen, flanks, and thighs. Treatment may focus on skin firmness, a limited area of fat, or both, depending on your anatomy.
For example, two patients concerned about their upper arms may need different recommendations. One may have a small amount of laxity suitable for a minimally invasive approach. Another may have enough hanging skin that removal would provide a more meaningful improvement.
That distinction becomes especially important after substantial weight loss. We assess the amount of excess skin before recommending treatment and can discuss plastic surgery after weight loss when appropriate.
Junera may suit adults in good overall health who want to improve a specific area of mild to moderate laxity or localized fullness. A stable weight and realistic expectations help guide body-contouring decisions.
During your consultation, we assess your skin, the amount of fat in the area, and the degree of improvement you would consider worthwhile. We also review previous procedures, medications, healing history, and any medical conditions that could affect treatment.
Pregnancy, nursing, an active infection, bleeding disorders, or a history of poor wound healing may make treatment unsuitable. Tell us about blood-thinning medications; do not stop prescribed medication on your own.
Give Healing Some Calendar Space
Allow time for swelling, bruising, and tenderness. Temporary numbness or firmness can also occur. The manufacturer describes a typical swelling and bruising window of approximately three to ten days, although healing can take longer depending on the treatment and the individual. Returning to light daily activities and feeling ready for a photographed event are different milestones. Tell us about upcoming travel, work commitments, or occasions so we can discuss realistic timing.
Your instructions may include compression, entry-point care, and temporary restrictions on strenuous exercise. Follow the plan provided for your treatment area and contact the practice about increasing pain, spreading redness, or other unexpected changes.

Potential complications include burns or other thermal injury, infection, scarring, contour irregularities, and nerve injury. Local anesthesia also carries risks. Small entry points do not eliminate the possibility of a visible mark. Your provider will review the risks relevant to your health and treatment plan before you decide to proceed. Collagen Keeps Its Own Schedule
Early changes may become apparent as swelling resolves. Skin tightening develops more gradually as collagen remodels, with improvement generally assessed over approximately three to six months. EraLift information
The degree of change varies with your starting anatomy, treatment area, and healing response. Follow-up allows us to assess progress before considering whether additional treatment would be useful. Aging and weight changes continue to affect the treated area, so a specific result or duration cannot be guaranteed.
