Botox and Dysport make it easy to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines and rejuvenate the youthful beauty of your face. The Botox and Dysport injections process is easy and quick and offers results that look incredibly natural. At Blackhawk Plastic Surgery, we offer Dysport and Botox injections for men and women in Danville.

What Is Dysport?

Prescription Dysport is an injection used to temporarily improve the look of your moderate to severe frown lines without changing the look of your whole face. The untreated facial muscles still work normally, allowing you to freely show facial expressions, such as smiling, in untreated areas.

Dysport is a formulation that has been shown to deliver temporary improvement in moderate to severe frown lines, even with repeat treatments. So, the effect of repeat treatment with Dysport may be comparable to your first use.

How Does Dysport Work?

With just 1 injection into each of 5 points between and over the eyebrows, Dysport blocks the signal from the nerve to the muscles, ultimately resulting in a reduction of muscle activity and temporarily preventing contraction of the muscles that cause frown lines. You should not be treated with Dysport more frequently than every 90 days.

What Is Botox?

BOTOX® injection is a simple, non-surgical procedure that can eliminate or improve deep or persistent wrinkles. The most commonly treated features include the glabellar frown lines (between eyebrows), horizontal forehead wrinkles, and the crow’s feet (just outside each eye). It can sometimes be used to treat wrinkles around the mouth and in the neck. Other uses of BOTOX® include temporary relief of migraine headaches in some patients and improvement in overly sweaty palms and armpits.

How Does Botox Work?

BOTOX® is a toxin from the bacteria Clostridium botulinum which has been medically processed. When injected in very small amounts into muscle, it paralyzes or partially paralyzes that muscle for about 3-4 months. The toxin causes the paralysis by blocking the nerve impulse to the muscle. The office procedure only takes a couple of minutes to perform and is very safe.

Botox Recovery

Many patients return to work immediately after their office visit. The result appears over the next 2-6 days and last about 3-4 months. The offending muscle relaxes and the wrinkle fades. BOTOX® is a very popular procedure and is highly successful. Patient satisfaction rates are quite high. The procedure is repeatable.

Botox and Dysport Cost

Cost can vary based on whether Botox or Dysport is used, the number of areas being treated, and the amount of product needed to provide the patient with their ideal results. Treatment price and payment options can be discussed during your consultation.
