Liposuction vs. Tummy Tuck: Which Procedure is Right for You
When it comes to your body, which area are you most concerned with? For many, their stomach is a problem area. If exercise and diet just haven’t made the impact you desire, then you should consider liposuction or a tummy tuck. But what is the difference?
A tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, removes both fat, removes excess skin, tightens the abdominal wall, and is the most effective way to tighten your stomach area. During the procedure, fat and skin tissue in the lower abdomen is removed and the abdominal wall muscles are tightened. Many women choose this option to restore their body after having children. Due to the nature of this surgery, you will need a good amount of time to recover—usually one to three weeks.
Liposuction is the removal of fat deposits through small incisions. This procedure shows dramatic improvements when patients already have good abdominal muscle tone. Unlike a tummy tuck, one aspect that this option will not address is excess skin.
