Liposuction is a cosmetic surgery procedure designed to remove stubborn pockets of fat that have been resistant to diet and exercise. The stubborn fat cells are removed through a cannula (long, skinny tube) which is inserted through tiny incisions in the specified area. Liposuction can be performed on virtually any area of the body from the mid-section to the thighs, the backside to the knees, the arms to the neck. While liposuction can remove stubborn fat, it is not a weight loss solution or a substitute for healthy eating and exercise.
Liposuction is sometimes performed in combination with other body contouring procedures such as a tummy tuck. If you are interested in learning more about the liposuction procedure and recovery process, and to find out if it may be right for you, contact our office to schedule your consultation.
