BOTOX®
is a simple, nonsurgical procedure which
can eliminate or improve deep or persistent
wrinkles. The most commonly treated features
include the glabellar frown lines (between
eyebrows) and the crow’s feet (just
lateral to each eye). The forehead can also
be injected.
BOTOX®
is a toxin from Clostridium botulinum
which has been medically processed. When
injected in very small amounts into muscle,
it paralyzes or partially paralyzes that
muscle for about 3-4 months. The toxin
causes the paralyzation by blocking the
nerve impulse to the muscle.
The office procedure only takes a couple
of minutes to perform. Many patient return
to work immediately after their office
visit. The result appears over the next
2-6 days and last about 3-4 months. The
offending muscle relaxes and the wrinkle
fades.
BOTOX® is
a very popular procedure and is highly
successful. Patient satisfaction rates
are quite high. The procedure is repeatable.
